Osama Ibrahim is a highly-experienced Principal research Scientist with particular expertise in the field of microbiology, Cell biology, and bioprocessing for both bio pharmaceuticals and food ingredients. He is knowledgeable in microbial screening, culture improvement; molecular biology, genetic engineering and fermentation research (antibiotics, enzymes, therapeutic proteins, organic acids) and biochemistry for metabolic pathways, enzymes kinetics, enzymes immobilization, bioconversion and analytical biochemistry. Ibrahim was Principal research scientist and External research liaison for Kraft Foods R&D with Universities for research projects related to molecular biology and bioprocessing. He holds three bioprocessing patents and several publications. After retirement from Kraft Foods he formed his own biotechnology company providing technical and marketing consultation for startup biotechnology in United States / Overseas and a key note speaker for international bio conferences. Ibrahim received his B.S. in Biochemistry with honor and two M.S. degrees in Industrial fermentation and in Microbial physiology. He received his Ph.D in Basic Medical Science (Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular biology) from New York Medical College. His research dissertation was on the construction of plasmid for the expression of a fusion protein of VEGF121/ Shiga-like toxin as a therapeutic protein for targeting angiogenesis (cancer treatment). Since 1979 he is a member of American Chemical Society, American Society of Microbiology, and Society of Industrial Microbiology.

Ashraf Abadi has completed his PhD from the College of Pharmacy, University of Florida, USA and Cairo University. He is the head of Pharmaceutical Chemsitry Department, Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, German University in Cairo and former Dean of the Faculty. He has published more than 80 papers in reputed journals and 7 patents and has been serving as an editorial board member and reviewer of reputed international pharmaceutical sciences journals. He supervised more than 6- Master and Ph.D. theses in the field of Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biotechnology

Dr. Rajendra K. Singh has been working as a Molecular Toxicologist and Biocompatibility Subject Matter Specialist in academics and industry set up for over 18 years and his career includes numerous citations for excellence in leadership relating to health and biological safety assessments of industrial chemicals, medical devices, and drug-device combination products. Rajendra Singh is currently serving as a manuscript reviewer for more than 20 Journals including, Cancer Research, and Clinical Cancer Research. He is an editorial board member for the Journal of Cancer Science and Therapy, Medical and Surgical Urology, and is affiliated with several professional societies, including the Society of Toxicology, and the American Association for Cancer Research. He is the founder of the USHA foundation a non-Profit organization developing health awareness and learning tools projects.

Asif Mahmood, M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., has served as our Chief Safety Officer/Vice President of Global Safety & Pharmacovigilance since July 2019. Prior to joining Medicago, Asif Mahmood held several roles of increasing responsibility from Director to Associate Vice President at Pfizer, Sanofi, Genzyme, Sanofi Pasteur and Apotex in the US and Canada from 2004 to 2019. He has experience in working in many diverse therapeutic areas including Vaccines, hepatology, oncology, infectious diseases, rare diseases, biosimilars, drug delivery devices, generics, and OTC. Earlier in his career, he served as the Deputy Director-General, Federal Ministry of Health in Islamabad, Pakistan, and as Medical Director and Joint Executive Director for Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Children's hospital Islamabad. He has also served on many public health and immunization projects of WHO, UNICEF and the Japan International Corporation Agency. He received his M.D., from King Edwards Medical University in Pakistan, in addition to completing M.P.H and M.B.A.

Global Safety & Pharmacovigilance

: Dr. Dafny received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem in 1965 and 1969, respectively followed by post-docs at Caltech, UCLA, and Columbia. He is currently a professor of Neurobiology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. The main focus of his research is on two topics: pain mechanisms, including pain suppression and electro-acupuncture, and drug abuse mechanisms, involving morphine, cocaine, alcohol, Ritalin, ecstasy, and Prozac. Behavioural, neurophysiological, pharmacological, endocrinological, and immunological procedures are used, primarily with the rodent as an animal model. The electrophysiological procedures used include single cell and evoked potential recording, electroencephalography (EEG), and brain stimulation. Computerized techniques are used for monitoring animal behaviour. He is also involved with several other studies. These concern connections between the nervous, immune, and endocrine systems; brain regulation of hormonal secretion; mechanisms of obesity and satiety; and the electrophysiology of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine, and peptides, with clinical application to Parkinsonism, Huntington's chorea, and Tardive dyskinesia. In addition, collaborative immunological and endocrinologic studies are conducted with other groups in the Texas Medical Center. Dr Dafny is a member of several professional organizations including the Society for Neuroscience, Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and the American Physiological Society, among others.
